One of the coolest skate spots I recently skated is a section of the NASA Space Shuttle’s reusable fuel tank.

We were eating a bagel breakfast on a Sunday morning and thinking of where we should skate. We agreed it was a good day to try and skate a secret spot – a full pipe.

The full pipe is about 12 feet tall and since it’s made of steel, you go so fast. Skating a full pipe is challenging, because you can actually go past vertical. I was able to do my highest kick-turns going backside, but was able to get a few high front-sides. It’s hard to believe this full pipe was once used in actual missions and today we skated it. Skating this full pipe was so much fun!
